Putting Peterborough on the Map

Peterborough’s many tourist attractions, sports and leisure venues, shops and cycleways have now been clearly mapped out for all to see on a brand new "Tourism and Cycle Map".

The map, due to be officially launched on Friday 18th June, as part of the Peterborough Cycling Festival in Cathedral Square was produced by Peterborough City Council in partnership with PECT and Sustrans.

Hugh Cripps, PECT Operations Manager is delighted with the end result. "After many months of hard work what has been produced is a clear concise, double sided map. On the front is shown the wider Peterborough district, highlighting tourist attractions and cycle routes as far as Stamford, The Deepings, Thorney and Oundle. On the reverse, is a map of the city with the all the major attractions grid referenced for easy location.

This all-new map will be invaluable to both visitors to the city and local residents, as not only are the various attractions shown but also all the cycle routes across Peterborough including the Primary Cycle Network and the award winning Green Wheel. So whether you are cycling to commute, to have fun or to get fit this will be the map for you"

We expect that this map will help promote Peterborough as not only a place to visit but also as a base from which stay and explore the district. Hopefully visitors will take advantage of the fantastic cycle network that has made the city one of the UK’s premier cycling destinations.
