Get behind Peterborough's aim to become UK Environment Capital
and Pledge Your Support
Peterborough
Environment City Trust along with Greater Peterborough
Partnership (GPP) and the Peterborough Evening Telegraph
are leading a Year of Action in 2007 to help make Peterborough
the UK's Environment Capital. Peterborough is one of the
UK's four Environment Cities and is now aiming to become
the UK's Environment Capital. PECT runs a number of projects
in the city to help make Peterborough a real contender
for this title. Projects range from helping home owners
save energy and greening local businesses through to environmental
education and supporting sustainable communities.
We need your help!

Remember that when you make your pledge you are agreeing
to do at least 3 of the energy saving actions below:

Change to energy efficient light bulbs.

Check my loft and walls are properly insulated.

Use reusable bags for life instead of plastic bags.

Do not leave electrical appliances, such as the
television, on standby.

Walk, cycle, take the bus or car share instead of
driving whenever possible.

When making hot drinks only boil the water I need.

Compost kitchen and garden waste.

Use local produce or grow my own vegetables.

Dry my washing outdoors using the sun and wind.
