What is it?

This
project works to build community spirit and encourage
more environmentally friendly behaviour in new housing
developments in Peterborough.
Project staff visit residents to conduct a short Community
Survey, before presenting them with a free Sustainable
Living Bag. This bag contains information about environmental
issues, free environmental goods (including two energy
efficient light bulbs, a Fat Trap and a reusable shopping
bag), and information about the local community.
The survey is designed to identify current behavioural
patterns, environmental interests, and community needs.
Project staff then work with a number of partner organisation
to try and meet these needs.
The Seeding Sustainable Communities Project also arranges
environmental events and activities within the communities,
in response to the interests expressed by the residents.
The project is currently working in the Hamptons, but
will shortly be expanding to include the Riverside development
in Woodston. If you live in the Hamptons, and would like
a Sustainable Living Bag, please complete a copy of our
survey. We will then contact you to arrange a time to
deliver the Bag.
